If Jews had been armed, there would have been no Holocaust

VIGILS WON'T STOP MURDEROUS ANTI-SEMITISM, GUNS WILL
Daniel Greenfield, Frontpage, 5 Nov 2018

Jews Can Shoot is a Jewish 2nd Amendment civil rights group. And after the Pittsburgh shooting, and the rising anti-Semitism on the alt-left and the alt-right, its message is more relevant than ever.

"With all due respect, singing songs, lighting candles and posting the phrase “Never Again”, regardless of the number of exclamation points, is not going to stop anyone from killing Jews," [Doris] Wise writes in the latest JCS newsletter.

"Fear of being shot by armed Jews. That’s what will stop them."
“The destructive capacity of the individual, however vicious, is small; of the state, however well-intentioned, almost limitless. Expand the state and that destructive capacity necessarily expands, too, pari passu.”—Paul Johnson, Modern Times, 1983.

Heavily armed SWAT officers had great difficulty in stopping him, but untrained civilians would have prevented the shooting? Seriously?

In Australia, Jewish people don't need to live in fear, because of our strict gun-control laws.

If Jews had been armed in Germany during the 1930s there would have been less people prepared to hide them and help them. They would not have wanted shoot outs in their premises. The Jews even if armed could not match the army, I think they would have been dobbed in more. we could guess what could possibly be worse than the Holocaust but every person saved is that much less worse than the Holocaust.
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

Yes, as bad as it is, it's not even the worst one this year.

With only 12 killed, it's nowhere near the worst. Just another senseless slaying in the good ole US of A

Chinese equivalent of a mass shooting at a primary school, sans firearms of course due to gun control - no fatalities:

A survivor of the Las Vegas shooting was killed while trying to save lives in the Thousand Oaks mass shooting (see posts above), which was also survived by at least one other survivor of the Las Vegas shooting.

This becomes more likely because both these mass shootings happened at country music events and the number of survivors of the Las Vegas shooting was large. But still "Mass shootings have become so routine and commonplace that my son was present at two."

Unfortunately human nature has a way of inuring itself against endless violence. Just some more 'thoughts and prayers' as we wait for the next gun massacre - nothing ever gets done to stop it over there.

Even a 'good guy with a gun' is unable to stop a heavily armed shooter: "Authorities said the incident started to unfold about 3.17pm local time when a Texas public safety trooper stopped a gold Honda. The driver of the car shot the trooper and drove west into the city of Odessa, officials said."

That is why gun control is necessary.

Texas loosens gun laws just hours after another mass shooting left seven people dead

New laws expanding gun ownership in Texas came into effect today, just hours after a mass shooting in the state’s west killed seven people.

The laws, signed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in June, make it easier for Texans to have guns in public places, including schools, places of worship and foster homes.

It comes after seven people died in the shooting near the twin towns of Odessa and Midland in west Texas on Saturday, and just weeks after 22 people died in a shooting in a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas. ...

Dems Propose First Gun Grab Since Lexington and Concord
    David Harsanyi, 6 Sep 2019

The "mandatory gun buyback" exemplifies the impracticality and absurdity of do-somethingism. Democrats want to turn millions of otherwise law-abiding citizens into criminals overnight for refusing to adhere to a law that retroactively transforms the exercise of a constitutional right into a crime.

And they do it without any evidence that it would curtail rare mass shootings or save lives.

While national confiscation would be unprecedented in American history, we already possess hard evidence that bans of assault rifles don't alter gun violence trends. Gun homicides continued to drop steeply after an "assault weapons" ban expired in 2004.

It's also worth noting that in 2017, the last year of available FBI data, there was a near-historic low of 7,032 murders with handguns, and 403 by "rifles" of any kind, not only "assault weapons." To put that in perspective, there were 1,591 knife homicides during that same span, 467 people killed with blunt objects, and another 696 with fists and kicking.

The criminal class and deranged would-be mass shooters have absolutely no incentive to participate, anyway. But you knew that.

Then there is the little matter of constitutionality. I've noticed an uptick in gun grabbers—a phrase that's no longer hyperbole—arguing that Americans don't need AR-15s to hunt, as if it mattered.

Although ARs are used by hunters, I'm certain nothing in the Second Amendment mentions hunting, because the right of self-defense—an individual concern, as well as a collective one—has nothing to do with shooting deer and everything to do with protecting Americans from those who endeavor to strip them of their inalienable rights.

If you think you're going to have overwhelming support for "mandatory gun buybacks" when people learn that you're really talking about "the confiscation of 20 million guns," you're fooling yourself.
