Are you going to play Garvin? I will most likely play since I will have finished my exams just before then.

There is always a nice social get together on the Saturday evening with wine and nibbles - as long as your game doesn't go too long.

this is correct and then wongwichit was two pawns up against solo in round three and cold blundered his knight to lose the game. I will have further information when I get the sp files from charles.

But results as I know them:

    Gold Coast Open:

    1st: Ian Rogers
    Equal 2nd: S. Soloman, D. Smerdon

The other results I will update when I get the information.

In the other section, 10 yr old James Morris from Victoria was outright first on 6.5/7. His one draw was with some patz that came outright 3rd on 5.5/7. My friend Nenad was outright 2nd with 6/7.

    *(BD = 'Some patz')

Given that the GC OPEN was a two-division SWISS then the analysis of competitiveness would be of interest. (Only you can calculate, now that you have complexified the metric ..)

My guess is that first round looks really competitive.

    Tks Baz
Now all we need is for some kind Queenslander to come in out of the sun and read this.
Or, alternatively, they will pass through Bill's hands eventually and we can trap them there.

    Enjoy your moderate day
