yes a5 was imperative! thankyou! otherwise i get a5 and strangled to death with knight heading to c5 square!
34...axb4 35.bxc6 Bxc6 36.Na2 Bxg2 37.Nxb4 whites passed c pawn versus black's kside majority and better pawns, it doesnt look totally straight forward, ....how would you asses this position?

instead of bxg2 i think b3! is stronger then the draw is pretty straight forward. Bishop vs knight with all of blacks pawn on the sameside= draw
Just to be safe you should probably check with Fritz.
I think overall i was pretty lucky in this game since after Qg3 Nf5 is good for black, although gxf5 instead of exf5 i think would have yielded black a large edge.
Thx for the game and well played![]()
if b3 then isnt it just cxb3 retaining the pawn?Originally Posted by alipasha
hmm yes thankyou ,..i dont know why now, that i played exf5 and not gxf5 ,i think i thought the kside pawns would roll against wh k position, instead of opening the g file to attack it !![]()
thankyou alipasha,....
