    Great tournament with good numbers.

Congrats to the many winners and strong showing for the Uni of Adelaide contingent. Especially Alistair whose plan to donate rating points to the field and then retire seems to have gone awry! (Unless you intended to make the visiting GM the sole recipient of your generosity).

Congrats also to Mark for scoring the only win over GM Papin.

Some terrific performances by the Under 1700's, and I sincerely hope Dennis Steffensen received the rating performance prize!

A big thanks to all players for making the event one of the best attended in our history, and a special thanks to our interstate visitors GM Vasily Papin, Leonid Sandler and Elizabeth Warren. We hope to see you next year!

Yes as said above great tournament, well done to the 4 winners (one of whom I had the pleasure to play), but also to the unsung heroes, the arbiters Bill, James and Roland who officiated his last tournament, George our president, Alan for transporting all the equipment,Tristom our treasurer who had the unenviable task at the end of sorting out all the prize winners and with George and myself help pack and clean up and everyone else who contributed the little things like setting up boards clocks and chairs and help pack up boards, clocks, chairs and tables. Hopefully we'll see you at this tournament next year or at tournaments at the Chess Centre.

Relax, having less than 8 suitable entrants in the Championship is extremely unlikely.

Now is the time for all players to get their entry in & save on the late fee.
