Congratulations to Alistair Cameron who is the 2012 South Australian Chess Champion!
The last round was a night of drama with leader Alistair Cameron drawing with second place getter Kevin Sheldrick
in an exciting game that was drawn after 50 moves with both players surfing the increment for many of those moves.

    Hi all,

Evelyn Koshnitsky is not well , the thoughts of SACA go out to Evelyn and her family.

On a personal level a number of folks are very sad.

She did so much for SA Chess in particular junior chess in Adelaide ,
words cannot describe the debt we owe her.

    Interclub is coming ...

Woody Allen said “Eighty percent of success is just showing up.” In chess terms it could mean stepping forward and having a go at over the board play in Interclub; whether you’d be at the serious end of the tournament hall or just working your way towards it.

Interclub nominations for 2012 are welcome.

    Interclub is two weeks away, with nominations received so far from;

A grade: Adelaide, Grasshoppers, Modbury Marauders, Reds, Norwood Red, Norwood Blue, Zugzwang Ninjas

B grade: Adelaide, Modbury, Chess Colts, ABZS, Norwood Greys

Contact your team captain re your availability.

Starts 1st May, 7:30pm at the Chess Centre, Ranelagh St Adelaide

    A and B grades

    Teams of 4 plus reserves.

    Nine rounds on consecutive Tuesdays

Team captains can text or email grade requests and team name to me ph 0408 839 237, estaak@ozemail.com.au

Woody Allen also joked "I failed to make the chess team because of my height." Juniors seeking to develop their chess skills and concentration span are very welcome to participate. You will find that the team atmosphere in both A and B grades is very supportive.
