This is something that SACA needs to improve posting the results which is very annoying everytime WE wanted to see the updates and it's takes awhile sometime a month before finally posting the results, it's good that you and Michael has joined SACA and will be a big help to our very hardworking Aaron Perkins in running the show. if only I could contribute I will but for now, my job doesn't allow me.

Today saw the August Booster being played and it was a good little tournament with 10 players.

It is not often a player wins from the bottom half but that is exactly what Jibi Vareed did. He was 6th seed so played top seed Edgar Mdinaradze and almost beat him, but Edgar managed to salvage a draw from a lost position. Jibi then won his remaining 4 games to dominate the tournment with 4.5/5.
Equal second were Edgar Mdinaradze and Mathew Juszczynski 3.5/5. Dileesh Ashmit finished fourth and best junior on 3/5.

Tonights round 5 of City of Adelaide saw Kyle Leaver continue his winning ways to be on 5/5.
Dino Cinco, Anand Thiyagarajah snd junior Tharan Balachander are equal second on 4/5

There were unfortunately a couple of forfeits due to sickness so no round 6 draw was done tonight. Aaron Perkins will do it as soon as he can and have it up on www.sachess.org.au

Tonights August Allegro number 2 saw a good turn out of 20 players including some new players.
The tournament was won by Aaron Perkins and Hasitha Sandeepa on 4.5/5 after they drew their last round game.
Third was Chris Vinall on 4/5

The pairings for the 6th round of the City of Adelaide were done tonight by Aaron Perkins and should be on www.sachess.org.au soon

We currently have 7 entries for the SA Rapid Championship on Sunday. If you are planning to play please either email Aaron via tournaments@sachess.org.au or makes sure you get there early, not at 10:05. Late comers might find themselves not being paired for round 1.

The 7th round of the City of Adelaide played tonight was very interesting. On top board 3rd seed Edgar Mdinaradze beat top seed and tournament leader Kyle Leaver. Maybe I am missing something but it seemed to me that Kyle gave up a pawn in the opening unnecessarily and that eventually lost him the game. However Kyle maintained his 1 point lead because 2nd placed Tharan Balachander lost to Dino Cinco.
    So the standing are
    Kyle Leaver 6/7
Edgar Mdinaradze, Eryk Paprzycki, Dino Cinco, Tharam Balachander 5/7
William Wedding, Peter Sanders, Pavel Turcaj, Max Pritchard 4.5/7

The draw for round 8 was not done tonight because it is not clear whether one player would be able to play next week or not. Hopefully that will be confirmed in the next 24 hours and the draw done and published on the website.
However it seems quite likely that we will see the top two seeds, Kyle Leaver and William Wedding play in round 8

On Thursday night we have the the September Blitz #1.
When: 7:00pm, Thursday the 8th of September 2022
Venue: The Chess Centre of South Australia,
    10 Ranelagh Street, Adelaide.
    Entry Fee: $15 Adults, Junior/Concession $10
Format: 11 Rounds, Swiss System or Round Robin
Time Control: Fischer Blitz – 3 Minutes + 2 Seconds per move
    Contact: tournaments@sachess.org.au

We might have a visitor from the Philippines who is in Adelaide for a while and says his chess.com blitz rating is 2000-2100, so he probably will be one of the best players in the tournament.
