EE, I never did get that avatar installed - with the strict censorship (of HD's avatar) these days maybe it would get me barred? If MOd give me the okay it's all the way

I don't understand the big controversy around these diggers who've posted pics on the internet. Unlike the yanks, our soldiers never tortured anybody. It all looks to be regular Aussie humour to me.

    http://chesschat.org/showthread.php?t=4889&page=4

surely this thread brings to mind Steve Irwin's Qld Zoo, Howard the alligator or croc, [Alex] a rattle snake, GG the tortise, Belthasar the kookaburra on the sidelines. have I missed anyone out?

Listen mate, I may be your punching bag for 14 rounds and you are way ahead on points but note I keep getting up off the canvas, but then in the 15th and final I king-hit you with a haymaker (Maxy) and you are lifted right out of the ring. And on stretcher on way to hospital you are mumbling "FO FW". And then we start all over again...

I just found out that Ray Charles was a chess freak, to get equal chance games had to be played in darkness.

Maybe Arianne, with her voice, could evolve into a blues singer.

KB, did it occur to you that you may have upset AR's feelings when you called his blog an hysterical. tabloid beat-up?

Given that he was employing his usual ridiculous teasing tactic of threatening to blog something trivial just because he thought the threat of embarrassment would needle me, I couldn't care less if I did.

However I did not apply that description to his blog, which is generally excellent, but specifically to the kind of trashy posts he sometimes makes there about Chesschat and about certain ACF issues. It seems a lot of the time that he is deliberately sensationalist just to try to start fights.

Bit like you with the post I'm now replying to, in fact.

Caught you out, I did not say that the horse I was burying was dead yet!

Bloated cows (with clover) needed a giant bloody hole - could have done with those bunker busters from the US.

It was also common to bury live kittens or into the river with them. Some people even threw them live on to the cracker night fire (Commonwealth Day in May) - like the Inquisition days relived.

I am still working out something for retired chess players - keep them living who knows.

Tonight, chess took centre stage on Channel 7's "Great Outdoors" program. Even Kosteniuk made an appearance. She said, "If Russia grows stronger, then chess grows stronger".
