Secind order of business, the cost is not the main concern. Its my addictive personality and sheer will power. I did manage to give up for 3 weeks when Andrew was born and was going great guns.

Subsequently, I received THAT phone call while I was in Melbourne. First thing I did was grab a smoke. Yet to find the resolve to do it again. Perhaps July 19th 08:40 am will get me there.
If you are still smoking with children in your life that will look on you as a role model then you have to ask yourself "Am I a selfish bastard or am I just stupid?" Then you have to be honest and realise you might be both. Go on . be a man give it up.

Damn. Lunch on Day 16 tastes mighty fine. The walk to the food court was a breeze - took me back to my childhood.

Eyes poll results and remembers a previous Howard in the "Addicted and Disgustipated" bucket. Wonders at what point he can jump a bucket up to join Jones and Co'.

    Good stuff Howie.

My mother smoked a pack a day for over 30 years. She tried many times to give up. Then one day she had a flu (or something) that made her not feel like smoking. After a week or so, she thought she'd be mad to go back to them, and never did.

My vote is cast, Sir Howard of the Pigtails.

I've never intentionally smoked, though when I worked in the Sydney telegraph office (it was an enormous, smoke-filled room that took up most of the space between George and Pitt Street, along Martin Place) we had over 300 blokes (no birds there in those days) and probably better than 250 of them smoked. So my lungs took a battering just from breathing.

Apart from that the only smoking I do is when I lose chess games. It comes out of the ears...
