Just wondering if these events are open to non-members. If so myself and my wife would like to play![]()

Hi, fireeater,
these events started last night; when Dandenong meets next will be Round 2....so I suggest that you call the arbiter, and I will Pm you his number,
Take care and God Bless, Macavity
PS to all else, haven't got the details of the round 1 results yet, but will post them as soon as I can
Hi Mac,
Is any similarity between this and reality purely coincidental?

Hi Rincewind,
Yes I know, it is something of which I was unaware until the final bulletin for the Autumn open came out after the last round.
It seems that at the AGM, which is held in April for DCC, they decided to alter the calendar, but did not let the web master now, who didn't change it, etc
As such the events have been changed to 10 player, 9-Round events, and as to whether there is still to be a rest week, or whether other events dates are affected...I don't know. I will try and find out.
Apologies to anyone who feels badly affected by this change, but it was a decision that I was unaware of myself.
Take care and God Bless, Macavity
Well mistakes happen, however they come at a cost. Let's hope the web calendar reflects the decisions of the April AGM in short order.

Hello everyone,
I welcome anyone to contact me about this, but thought at least two of those who are enquiring about this event knew it was starting on Wednesday night?
I will see what the responses are, and it may then be possible to set up another grade as a round robin, but save that, it is highly unlikely that people will be able to be integrated into the already existing grades that have commenced.
My apologies once again to those who had planned to enter, and had been misinformed of the starting date,
Take care and God Bless, Macavity
Results comign in soon?
Well, it looks like I'm going to play so I'll try to give some reports here. First thing to note....I've missed a round already![]()

Well it looks like I've signed up for quite a strong tourney, and after a few moves I found out the top section is to be FIDE rated...
Rashid 2250
Pyke 2181
Gorka 2181
Dragicevic 2154
Dizdarevic 2148
Pecori 2131
Lojanica 2118
Voon 2060
Machell no Fide rating
Premaka no Fide rating
All told a good tourney. Gorka and Pecori start with a default in round 1, I believe, and I haven't got the first round results. But tonight Dizdarevic had a quick draw with Lojanica, Machell beat Rashid in a Dutch which I don't know too much about, Gorka got a decent ending against Premaka and converted while 2 games were still being played when I left. Pyke was an exchange up against Domagoj and looked comfortable, but the game between Voon and Pecori was very tense and could go either way.
Anyway, I don't think any games are going to be available, except mine if anyone really wants to see them?
There are 3 other sections which shows the popularity of these tournaments and the Dandenong chess club.

Ok, my round 2 game from the Dandenong Grades tournament for the joy of anyone to watch. Apologies to my opponent for publishing a game that I won, but I'll post all my games here regardless of the result, and may even try to analyse some of them....it is a FIDE rated tourney after all....
