    Total prizes of $9000 with $7500 guaranteed.

    Run in 2 divisions Open & U1600

    Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th, Monday 12th June 2006

    Time Limit:
    FIDE time control 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move from the start
    (The Open Division is FIDE Rated)

    Entry Open:
    Adult: $80.00 * Junior [U18]: $60.00 If registered by Monday 5th of June
    Entry fee after June 5th Adult: $100.00 Junior [U18]: $75.00

    Entry U1600:
    Adult: $70.00 * Junior [U18]: $50.00 If registered by Monday 5th of June
    Entry fee after June 5th Adult: $90.00 Junior [U18]: $65.00

    Full Time Students Under 25 may enter at the Junior rate.

    Entries will be accepted on Saturday June 10th till 12.30pm only.

    Schedule:
    Saturday noon-12:30 Registration; 1.00pm Round 1; 5:30pm round 2;

    Sunday 10:30 Round 3; 3:00 round 4; 7:00 round 5;

    Monday 10:30 Round 6; 3:00 round 7; 7:00 presentation

    Prize fund of $9000 based on 140 entries.

    $7500 is guaranteed by NSWCA irrespective of entries

    The Open Division is a FIDE rated event
    You only need to register for the event by June 6th to be eligible for the early entry fee. Payment of the entry fee can be made on the day by 12.30
    All entries received after 12:30 at registration will incur a $10 additional late fee
    Players are eligible for only 1 prize.
    All NSW resident players must be members of (or join) the NSWCA or the NSWJCL

    Such an important event should not be located so far eastern. It is unfair for players who may have to come from the other side of Sydeny, about 2 hours away.

    Yes it could be a bit of a trip for some chess players.

    On the positive side its a really nice venue, walking distance to bondi beach (popular tourist attraction)

    Tournaments in the past have run there and been very successful. I remember attending an Australian rapid play and staying at one of the local hotels for a few days. Was a memorable event.

    Yes the top division will be FIDE rated.

    Bit Suprised it isnt mentioned in the ad.

    I would imagine that free entry to IM's is a standard practise throughout Australia...but maybe NSW is different.
