George Xie i believe was in outright first place before the last round with about 4 players able to catch him (incl. Johnny Bolens and Jesper shultz peterson). I think i had a reasonable tournament to my standards. 1/4 on saturday and 1.5/3 yesterday. Played a shocker the last game on saturday (probably because i didn't get much sleep on friday night and the effect of red bull must have worn off). I had a satisfying day yesterday. R5 I beat Rashid Kumar (1300-1400). Lost a tough battle with carl Art where we were both in time trouble. I should have drawn. In the last game I drew with Anthony Villenueva where i battled from a pawn down. again we were both in time trouble. I will put some of these games up on the analysis section. I want to get peoples ideas in some positions.

George Xie was outright winner with 6.5/7, drawing with Benny Galvez in the final round.

Outright second was Johnny Bolens who pipped Ed Agulto in the final round, Ed losing on time.

Third was shared between Ed, Jesper Schultz-Petersen and Kevin O'Chee.

It was an enjoyable comp. with 32 participants which I was more than happy with considering the publicity that I did not do.

    Main event
    First
    G. Xie 6.5/7 draw with Benny Galvez (partly of convenience)

    Second
    J. Bolens 6/7 Loss to Xie (danced around hall after beating Agulto)

    Equal third to fifth
Jesper Schultz-Pedersen 5/7 Losses to Xie & Agulto
E Agulto 5/7 Losses to Xie and Bolens (on time)
Kevin O'Chee 5/7 losses to Xie, Jesper (beat Rachmadi)

Adrian Rose 4/7 Losses to Xie, Agulto & Jesper
Haris Muljadi 4.5/7 Losses to Jesper, Rose, drew with F. Kresinger
Benny Galvez 4.5/7 Losses to Rose, Miodras Erdeljan and drew Xie
    Anthony Keuning 4/7
    Anthony Villaneuva 2.5/7
    P. Hanna 3.5/7 (was distracted during games but won small prize)

Ed was disappointed that loss on time cost him second place as was ahead on time at late stage. But his win against Jesper was without blood which I appreciated.

I expected G. Xie (as champ) to match J. Bolen's and M. Kai's record of perfect score. No one has won twice yet. There is a perpetual trophy at Cabravale Diggers and a personal trophy as well.

Already agreed upon same comp. same venue next year.

Lightning was won by G. Xie, haven't got other scores on me.

Overall was very good atmosphere and enjoyable comp

    Hey Peter,
I assume you are not submitting this for rating as Steve Carratt has not yet received it.
