    Idea: Chess in the Park

Just an idea for promoting chess generally in NSW...

The NSWCA writes to the City of Sydney (as part of its festival) to promote: a bring your chess board (and clock) to Hyde Park and play others. No need to spend cash, no organisating a tournament needed...

Stalls for Brian and Peter.... the NSWCA and potentially the clubs.

    Your thoughts appreciated...

It sounds like a good idea, you should take it to the NSWCA.

a festival? really, thats a good idea, the NSWCA should seriously consider this as well. i was thinking maybe they could hold simul's in shopping centres especially where there are many juniors around

Croydon Chess (VIC) participates in the local Maroondah Festival and runs an outdoor rapid tournament, subject to weather of course.

Last year we picked up about 8-10 new members from that event.
