And difficult weather for the teams to play ...so the question is how it happened? Well we can guess how ...hint: the same way Russia won hosting rights a some years ago...

I do not have time to watch World cup games sadly but been following the scores: Saudis are the big surprise pack of the tournament so far. Australia fought bravely against France. The scoreline could have been better. I think Tunisia is our best chance to get on board.

France were to good, won easily, could have scored more goals.

Tunisa and Denmark drew their game. We have a little bit of a chance of a win against both of them, but we really lack quality overall. Most likely we will lose both games

I would remove the word ''may'' from the sentence...its kind of obvious how Qatar got it. and Platini later made some further admissions

Against Tunisia, I think we have a good chance. Vs Denmark, even though Henrik Mortensen is not playing for the team this time - it is going to be tougher as it is a very solid side.

    As The Shovel article concludes:

"If the allegations are proven true, there is speculation that Qatar’s 2030 Winter Olympics bid may also be threatened."

It would be funny if it would not be sad.

2 big upsets already. Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia and Germany lost to Japan. Likely to be more upsets, methinks.

Argentina were rather unlucky against Saudi Arabia because they had a goal wrongly ruled offside by the new automatic offside technology. If that didn't happen it would have massively changed the game and they would have won

Japan did exceptionally well against Germany but Germany also was terrible defensively for the second Japan goal.

Now things may get exciting for Australia. Need to hold on and survive Denmark!

Supposedly the theory is that Argentina wants to come second in the pool so they won't play Brazil before the final. However that would require them to draw with Poland which involves a risk of finishing third.

Brazil is an excellent team but there is other high quality teams like France, England, Spain and Germany is not too far behind them if they play like they played against Spain. So I am not sure avoiding Brazil achieves anything at all. Also it is a bit silly to score first if you are not trying to win so I think the theory is nonsense.

I would think in such situations where every match can be lost (eg. what hapepend against Saudis) they would certainly try to do their best. Plenty of teams to lose to before final anway.
