Before I had the record for lone poster in a thread in Architure, now I possess it in A/C Relos - now all you party poopers stay away please. Unless you want to come up with tales about your relos - the crazy ones preferably. Gunnar can I end with a propositon?

Number of inactive (in some sense) top-60 accounts is down two to 14 since last update. One account was removed from the main list because the poster fell out of the top 60. One account on the main list and one account on the lurker list last time resumed posting, and one account became inactive. Two accounts on the lurker list last time switched to the main list and one accounts on the main list switched to the lurker list. Of the 13 accounts listed on both lists, three logged in during the last six months, and one of these posted.

Hi Kev, how come am I occupying two places in the list? Can we amalgamate JaK and justaknight in one? And how come Howie gets away with his latter handle and his Gunner name isn't referred to in the list? I am sure he was yabbing then as much, (if not worse) than he does now!

Ta for that - because of the changed usernames I hadn't noticed I'd failed to remove your previous username from the list when adding new entries. Now rectified and the correct top ten should therefore be:

    1. Kevin Bonham 7.70 (1)
    2. Captain Underpants 6.40 (5)
    3. Bill Gletsos 5.95 (2)
    4. Rincewind 5.13 (3)
    5. Garvinator 4.80 (4)
    6. Jono 3.76 (6)
    7. Boris 3.60 (9)
    8. JaK 3.29 (11)
    9. antichrist 3.25 (7)
    10. Adamski 3.01 (20)

When a poster changes username, the stats include all posts and actions under their previous username so long as it's the same account. You'll notice that elsewhere on the lists where your username appears this is the case.

    Very interesting

All very interesting, thanks Kevin. I wonder of the coming drop in ppd for me will be made up for by later activity? We will see...

Between June 28 and July 24 inclusive (27 days) there were five days with a total postcount of exactly 66. Oddly enough 66 was the lowest postcount recorded in this period and the average for this period even including all the 66s was 98 posts per day, which is above average for the year to date.

The same postcount happening 5 times in 27 days is a new record since the formation of the forum as it exists today; previously there had been a case of the same postcount occurring five times over a period of 30 days (119 posts five times from Sep 25 2008 to Oct 24 2008).

And there was yet another 66 on July 31 making six instances of the same daily total in 34 days, although it was the lowest total in that time.

The commonest daily total in the forum's history is 119 which has occurred 31 times; 66 has occurred 24 times. Every total from 31 to 215 inclusive has occurred at least once.

On October 5 2010, a postcount of 96 was recorded for the 32nd time making 96 the new leader as the most recorded daily postcount in CC history. The previous leader, 119, last occurred on April 23 this year.

Sharp-eyed or bored observers may note that the total number of "members" shown on the front page has dropped from over 13,000 to a current total in the 6,000s. The reason for this is that spammer accounts predating the start of 2009 have been culled to make spammer banning faster.

And the majority of the remaining 6,000 are also spammers. The average number of spammers for 2010 is 7.33 per day but over the last two months it has been 8.82 per day. The increase trend is more marked when you factor in that we are regularly banning IP address and mail domains used by spammers and that over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in (within the last 2 months), worldwide spamming seemed to hit a glitch for a couple of days.

December 2's postcount (a mere 33, one of the lowest of the year) was only 30% of the postcount of the day before. This is the seventh greatest percentage reduction in postcount from one day to the next since the forum proper started in Jan 2004.

The greatest such reduction supposedly occured on April 15 2006 (when a postcount of 36 was 21.818% of the previous day's postcount) but I suspect the forum was offline for part of that day, meaning the real greatest reduction may have occurred on April 30 2004 (a postcount of 14, the lowest since the forum proper started, was 21.875% of the day before). There have been 13 apparent cases where a day's postcount was three or more times the next day's.

Not counting Jan 1 2004, there have been nineteen cases where a day's postcount was at least three times the previous day's. The highest ratio of one day's postcount to the day before's both occurred in April 2006 (April 7 2006, 5.027 times the previous day's postcount and April 16 2006, 4.94 times the previous day's.) As results from around that time (especially the second one) appear suspicious other candidates include Jan 12 2004 (4.63 times previous) and Dec 13 2004 (3.83 times).
