    I was able to ascertain some personal stats;

    238 posts in Coffee lounge = 8.91%
    1197 posts in Non-chess = 44.83%

    (from 2,670 total).

I could be right, that I have the highest % for the coffee lounge and one of the highest % of posts (let's say min. qualification of 200 posts) for non-chess.

Have discovered that 442 has 49.7% of posts in Non-chess and 7.46% in the CL.

Kaitlin has 58.5% of posts in Non-chess, the highest I could find.

Cat too exceeds my non-chess % but couldn't be bothered calculating the exact % as the search engine shows max 500 posts in any one forum.

With potentials Baz and KB, numbers are too high to tell where they stand.

I did something like the following, some time ago:

Do a search for "all posts" by Mr X
Just read the number of pages of posts returned. Pg

Number of posts (Po) divided by number of pages of posts will give a rough estimation of Mr X's post length.

    Po/Pg

You can fiddle with the number of pages by subtracting an amount that corresponds to headers/footers/junk (J) per post. Then your quotient will be more legit.

    (Po - (Po x J)) / Pg

The only parameter that gets ignored is the quoted text within each post. Some people amost never quote while other lazy bastards quote whole posts. You could adjust for this by taking a random sample of MrX's posts and giving him a quotation factor - say % of post that is quote (Q). and applying it

    Q(Po - (JPo)) / 100Pg = Approx. mean words per post

Bung it into a spreed sheet and see who is a one liner expert and who is a windbag.

I just thought!! what about the empty lines ...... No prob. Use a similar algorithm to the bollocks above BUT, instead of using Pg, you need to do a word count. Cut and paste a sample of Mr X's pages into WORD and do a word count. But you still need J and Q.

That research project should keep you out of trouble for an afternoon.

Top ten list has not changed in composition for some time but order is in flux. At current rates jenni is likely to overtake STML and move into top ten. Swapping of positions (2 and 3) and (4 and 5) may also be of Punters' Club interest.

Additionally 26. Mischa suspended account on 17-04-2006. Note that although there appears to be a recent upsurge there are a variety of reasons, and also, an inactive poster who has ceased posting recently is more likely to still be in the top 60 than one who stopped earlier in the board's history.

Not sure about the likelihood of a 2/3 swap I think we have been tracking pretty much with a uniform difference the last 6 weeks or so but another upsurge in posts on my behalf might be around the corner, you never know...

Maybe if someone started a "Does God play cricket?" thread.

You are 18th on total postcount.

As for your eventual top ten prospects I think this list is interesting:

Ten most active posters by post per day since signup (qualification: 100 posts)

    1. Bill Gletsos 9.40
    2. ggrayggray 6.91
    3. Rincewind 6.69
    4. starter 6.32
    5. Kevin Bonham 6.03
    6. four four two 5.04
    7. Matthew Sweeney 4.75
    8. arosar 4.51
    9. antichrist 4.27
    10. Belthasar 3.78

four four two slots in at sixth place in a list otherwise comprised of the top nine posters in order of postcount (since all these joined on 01-01-2004 from the old ACF forum.)

    Hey Kevin:

    Howard Duggan

    379 posts

    6.27 posts per day

Didn't see that one coming that he'd pass you so quickly?

At this rate he could even hit #2 spot within a day or two.

    Was all his postwhoring counted?
No this is silly, the whole premise is silly and very badly written. I'm the senior officer here and I've not had a funny line yet so I'm stopping it.

No that's not counting the deleted posts from the postwhoring attempt to gain CL access!

And to think only a few months ago Howard was saying this bb was a waste of time and pointless posting here....
    Is reunification possible?..
