There is a good movie this Sunday night on SBS2 from 11.15 pm.

    Winterschläfer

From the tv guide: A tale of suspense in a small Alpine village. Passion, emotions, love and death are set in motion by a car accident, in which the lives of four young people and a farming family become tragically intertwined.

Well worth a look. Directed by Tom Tykver (who went on to direct Run, Lola, Run).

Then on Monday night at 10:30 pm (SBS2)

    The Grave of the Fireflies

This is one of my favourite Studio Ghibli creations. Sure their speciality is with moralising fantasy (Spirited Away, Laputa, Kiki, Ponyo etc) but this film has a realism and gritty edge to it which is refreshing.

Looks like a good week for movies coming up.

Big Love - Sins of the Father

    Where: SBS1
    When: Wednesdays 8.30pm - 9.30pm

Tonight: Bill is pulling out all the stops to win the state senate nomination, while Nicki relishes her role as his campaign's secret weapon.
