    Swindler's Corner

Theres probably another thread along these lines but i thought i would just create this one anyway.

To kick this thread off here is an interesting game i played at toukley on the weekend (Where I was 3 pawns down and decided to sac a rook on move 35...Probably unsound but Hey! i'm not complainin' )

I don't call that a swindle. I call that sac an excellent practical chance, whether or not it's sound... especially when you're 3 pawns down.

It's easy to say in retrospect, but your opponent should've been activating his queen + rooks (e.g. with 32...Kh7 followed by ...Qg7) rather than chasing a 3rd pawn. Well played!

Cool sac! I'd be happy with that one

When I think about swindles this is one game that comes to mind. It is from 12 years ago...

Although don't know if it is really a swindle. Just not giving up after losing a piece and some inaccurate defense by my opponent. Perhaps that is a definition.

I watched this game to move 12 when White castles on the long side which is open to a Rook attack. I thought not necessary to watch anymore because of that move.

Yes, it was a gift horse. Mind you, allowing Qa4+ was not too flash either. Remember that this is 12 years ago long before I ever played a OTB rated game.
