What will the time controls be? 90 30? I couldn't find that info here or on the webpage.

    found them on the brochure

90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30
minutes for all remaining moves, with increment
of 30 seconds per move from move 1

Thanks RedWedge, you are quite right. I've just updated the 'Rules' page on the website with this information.

The time control for both the 2023 Australian Open and the 2023 Australian Minor will be:

90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for all remaining moves, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

The Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough website has an interactive tour of the Preston and Mentelle Rooms. The Preston Room (the larger rectangular room) is where the 2023 Australian Open will be played.

Looks very good. What is the maximum number you can have in the room?

The floor area of the playing hall is approximately 447 square metres. Maximum capacity (set by the hotel) is 500; there are no longer any distancing requirements in WA. We will be able to host up to 250 players without overcrowding.
