Thinkers you admire

Please share with me the identity of thinkers you admire and why you admire them.

I will start with a couple of thinkers I admire

Sam Harris - I have been looking at some of his stuff recently and I find his arguments against the existence of free will to be highly compelling, some of his other stuff perhaps not so much.

Stephen Fry - He is exceptionally well read and his thoughts are based on great learning from them.
