And to top it all off, the draw percentage of the top boards in the last round is almost making the Candidates jealous!
Congratulations to Temur on retaining the title.

True.
Congratulations Temur!

Thank you organisers for putting on this excellent tournament in not the easiest of times
The field was strong and the winner is a worthy Australian Champion.
It's always a great event to be able to put on. I do however want to single out Shaun for his efforts in the event. I have been out of action over the past few days and Shaun has managed the event with the help of the arbiting team. The tournaments are actually split across 3 different rooms on two levels so it's definitely a big job - I know he was there after 10.00pm last night cleaning up rubbish that parents and kids had left behind.
Thank you Shaun in particular, all at Gardiner Chess and all the incredible arbiters for putting on three fantastic events, the prestigious Premier, the U1800 ACF Major and the U1200 ACF Minor over the last few days. Chess players of all playing standards were so well catered for in this way and the big entries showed the players loved this format once again. Take a bow Gardiner Chess! Congratulations to all the winners and in particular to Grandmaster Temur Kuybokarov for winning the Premier outright on 7 out of 9 - I think the Gold Coast must one of Temur's favourite places in the whole world!
Congratulations, Temur! Outright first in such a keenly contested tournament is a fine achievement. It has been noted already, but the Gold Coast really is shaping as a good luck charm.
I would like to thank all of the players for their conduct, professionalism, and good humour. Many traveled a considerable distance to compete, and these efforts are greatly appreciated. The tournament was played in an excellent spirit. There was only one illegal move to deal with across the whole five days and that was in the Major, on the board of one Mark C. Stokes (Quite unusually, however, Mark was the recipient, not the perpetrator - Mark, as black, played Rd2+ to check a white king on f2, White's response was Rc1-c2!??).
I would also like to thank Shaun Curtis for inviting me to be CA for the Premier Division, and for organising a wonderful tournament. Shaun's work as Chief Organiser has rightly earned him considerable respect from players.
Best wishes to you all.
