So I looked at Fumey's Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/enyonamsewanoel.fumey. On it I found the following statement from 12 May. Interestingly he calls for donations to his campaign and gives an Australian back account where the money should be sent. It is an account of MPP solar Australia, the Australian arm of a Taiwanese company which has sponsored is campaign with $5000, I presume US dollars.

!!Please share and share, together, we will make it !!
    Dear Sisters and Brothers!
Who can understand you better than your own brother? We come to you once again to ask for your support. We need your federation's nomination, your good will, and why not, your financial support.
Together, we can magnify the work already accomplished by the current FIDE team. We can aid the development of FIDE even more, and make the game of chess flourish all over the world. We can honestly earn from our sport and our passion, without begging or stealing.
We understand that elections have always been an opportunity to seek for making pocket money at the expense of our principles and values.
For many of us, myself included, we have done this with good intentions, while the system has allowed it to remain so. We are not looking for culprits or pointing fingers, because virtually all of us have erred at one point or another.
Today, we can decide together, to do better and to be part of a future where everyone will have a good place in our organization. A place where individual federations are helped to build their federations, the best way. A place where both small and great have a seat on the table. A place where your voice is as important as the other leaders. A place for All.
In doing so, we will make our organization healthy and attractive to sponsors from various backgrounds who will not hesitate to invest in our passion, to contribute to its development and to a better world, because that is the goal of all sports: bringing men and women together with the aim of promoting love & unity among them!
We will offer financial support, from the first year of our mandate, of at least $25,000, for each of the 80 level 4 and 5 federations, $2 million in total. Evidence of this support will be provided at the appropriate time. This amount will be used to finance in-depth long-term development.
Shiny but empty actions will be avoided, salaries will be allowed on the basis of local realities.
With our proximity policy, we will carry out educational work, so that the objectives (defined together and funded) are achieved. The follow-ups will be really sharp, and we will count on your honesty and dedication.
On this road that leads us to our common well-being and happiness, we need your active support on three (3) main levels:
    1. NOMINATIONS OF FEDERATIONS: to have our candidacy validated, we need your nomination (FIDE form to be completed is attached). This is the next step for us, and we will be elated to receive a nomination from your federation.
    2. YOUR GOODWILL: please contact us if you wish to play an active role in our campaign.
Attention! Kindly note that we do not offer any salary or financial compensation for the moment🙏🏾
    3. YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT: this will help with necessary travels and invitations to certain major events that we must honor, in order to meet you and explain deeply our program and plans. Our initial sponsor MPP Solar has started off the fund with a donation of USD 5,000 and has offered to collect donations in their USD account. Account to send money to is (please email us the bank receipt so we can track the transfers, fidepresidentialbid2022@gmail.com):

If Dvorkovich is elected again despite the fact that he iwas a member of the Russian Government and has not spoken CLEARLY and CONSISTENTLY against invasion of Ukraine ...it will mean that of FIDE and its member federations have reached the new low.

Btw, now it would be perfect time for Kasparov to make a comeback to the fide race. This time around - he may have a better chance.
Saying a candidate has no chance of winning is completely different to saying they are not trying to win. You claimed the later and need to back it up or admit you were wrong. Which is it?

It appears Baryshpolets has already destroyed his chances with his claim that larger chess federations should have more voting power at elections than small chess federations.

It also appears that Baryshpolets will not be getting the support of Ukraine as they have written a letter in support of the Sheripov candidacy. https://fide.com/news/1778

It apparently is not the first time that Inaik Sheripov has been in a FIDE elections, he was on Kirsan Ilyumzhinov's ticket in 2018.
Indeed not a good start to Baryshpolets campaign even though he is totally right: A federation with 10 players with an average rating of 1300 having one vote just like USA or UK or China or is nonsense...but same kind of nonsense has been happening in UN for years so we should get used to it by now.

This highlights another problem with his campaign - the lack of an obvious power base, compared to an insider like Fumey.

Of course, nothing is stopping the 'larger' countries from forming their own 'governing body' - assuming they can all agree on how many votes they should each have

By the way, right-wingers have been talking about forming their own UN for decades. However you wouldn't like their proposals, as they're not based on size, but on democratic values (so no China!).

Spoilers to spoil who? What's more likely is that there is a lot of concern about Dvorkovich because of Russia, but at the same time a lot of influential people think he's doing a good job. So there is scattered disorganised opposition. Most likely at some point most of the tickets realise they are wasting their time and unify behind the most viable ticket or give up.

Also there is no spoiler effect. The ballots are not first past the post as such; if no-one gets 50% on the first vote there is another round.

Btw, now it would be perfect time for Kasparov to make a comeback to the fide race. This time around - he may have a better chance.
    I doubt it.

Kevin, its not just that he is having the Russian passport that cocerns me but that for many years he has been a member of Putin's team! Even if he ''changed'' there are plenty of ways for Russian authorities to pressure him into making decisions they want.

Peter Heine Nielsen is a coach but does not have any chess administration experience so is not a good choice to be VP candidate.

Re ''spoiling'' techniques. Some guy named Sheripov (know idea what he has been doing in the chess world) is running and offering vice presidency to the Ukranian federation president. What a way to keep him away from Boryshpolets.

Inai Sheripov is running and he has already announced his VP running mate and he already has the support of the Ukrainian Chess Federation as has been posted already in the thread. Please review the thread to find the details.

EDIT: This post is in error, see correction below

    I was wrong.

I mixed up Vice President and Deputy President.

Sheripov has Lewis Ncube as his Deputy President.

They are indeed offering the President of the Ukraine Chess Federation a position as a Vice President as shown by a post on Ncube's facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/lewis.ncube.7
