What is the point of going to a tournament like this one and agreeing to short draws? Surely players have some belief they can win games.

One wonders why his opponent was not advised to wear a mask as he was playing with a primary contact and given that they are playing with the same set of pieces - it would make sense. Not far to ask one player to wear. Originally Posted by Desmond

A situation in which one player is wearing a mask while the other is not is less than ideal as the masked player's concentration may be affected and they may be disadvantaged. Players need to respect organisers and realise they bring the money that they are getting paid so they should answer to them.
First we had Firoujza demanding more money that the organiser could not afford and now we have Dubov forfeiting rather than follow a reasonable request. Players like this need to reign their heads in and grow up.

Which Firoujza, Alireza or his father? The tournament director was quoted "asked for much more money..." That is not a demand and the money may have been negotiable.I have not seen anything that said the event or organiser could not afford the money requested. Originally Posted by Scott Colliver
