I'd much rather it be held in Melbourne.

In any case, hybrid formats have been used for various high-level events, but are much too resource-intensive to be feasible for the wider populace rated below 2300.

In the 2021 Oceania Zonal we had 8 players and around 20 arbiters.

May be Can have Arbiters tournament with the winning arbiter getting IM title and 2nd place-getter FM...probably the arbiters tournament won't be much weeker than majority of the zonals we have been having .

Awesome idea! Call it the Oceania Arbiters' Invitational Zonal, and open it to titled arbiters registered in Zone 3.6. Just off the top of my head, there are 3 IMs, a few FMs, and a few women's titled players registered under Australia who would qualify (there may be more, but the FIDE ratings page seems to be down just at the moment).

    Who will arbit the arbiters?
