I'm excited for this as I think it will be the first tournament I've played in over 10 years.
I'm curious with the large increment what happens if a game is still going at the scheduled beginning of the next round? The game would have to go over 60 moves with both players using most of their time so it would be pretty rare but certainly seems not out of the question that it could happen.
Hi Thomas, welcome back! We can delay the start times for rounds either for specific boards or in rare cases for all players in the cases of long games. Players are given a guaranteed amount of break time between games if they need it (c. 45 minutes) so it's quite common for a few boards each round to be allowed to start late.

Thanks Kevin, I'm glad to hear there's not even a small prospect of having to play from 10 straight through to 10! Will you be playing? If so I look forward to seeing you there!
Hi could we have an indication of how many have signed up so far for this event? Just curious![]()

Probably anybody who needs to know already does, but mentioning it just in case - be aware that Victorians have been declared Undesirables by the Tasmanian government with effect from 27 May:

I'm on the other side of the drawbridge so a good chance I'll have to withdraw. I'm holding out some hope that we'll be out of lockdown in a week and Tas will lower the drawbridge in time for the tournament but don't know if that's just wishful thinking on my part.

OK There's now approximately 0 chance that I can make it due to the Victorian COVID outbreak so sadly I'll be withdrawing. Is there a formal process for this? I couldn't find anything on the TCA website.
Also are there any other weekend or single day tournaments coming up this year? It would be nice to pair up a visit to the family I have down there with a chance to play some chess.
