Hi Thomas, I'm looking for somewhere to stay. Maybe we could share? I've sent you a direct message.

Kings Meadows Hotel - Bar, Bistro is within walking distance of the venue and has rooms available, or at least did when I called this morning.

Who's the 21st entrant? TCA tournament page has 20 entrants (as of the 22nd February)
The slower I play the better I play, who would of thought?

He played in the Perth Open last weekend, 1500 performance. (And could have been better: he was piece up against a 1700 before blundering mate.)

Rating will probably go up a fair bit from that performance with the March ratings.

Seeding estimates in brackets for unrated players.

    Kevin Bonham 2065
    Ian Rout 1967
    Miles Patterson (ACT) 1886
    Denis McMahon 1743
    James Peirce 1737
    James Banbury UNR (1706)
    Will Rumley 1683
    Reg Harvey 1660
    Oscar Breslin UNR (1590)
    Eddy Amos 1530
    Ian Little 1506
    John Patrick 1466
    Chris Shepherd 1447
    Thomas Powell-Davies 1445
    Zane Cusack UNR (1414)
    Himash Keerthiratne UNR (1336)
    Roger Blackburn 1335
    Jeeva Praveen (QLD) 1297
    Rares-Daniel Ocoleanu 1184 (FIDE)
    Addison Djatschenko 1126
    Monty Brown 1036
    Andrew Campbell 798
    Thomas Hartwell UNR (778)
    Luwanna Beeton 479
    Bayani Beeton 426
    Udani Amarasekara UNR*
    Noah Magunssen UNR*

(For players with ACF Quick ratings but no ACF Classic rating the seed rating is their Quick rating minus 245 points which is the current median difference for Tasmanian active players. Ditto for players for whom an ACF Quick TPR can be estimated.)
    * Seed rating may be applied if information about playing strength becomes available.

I'm not sure I like the theoretical 1st round draw with the current number of entrants.

Well that would be a pretty brutal 1st round for pretty much everyone (Based on current entries and ratings)

Entrant number 26 James Banbury added and edited into list above. We have also had an enquiry from another possible entrant.

The hierarchy I am using for seed ratings for the players who do not have an ACF classic rating is:

    1. FIDE rating
    2. ACF Quick rating, adjusted for parity - this may be varied if not from Tasmania.
    3. TPR estimate from ACF Classic tournament(s)
    4. TPR estimate from ACF Quick tournament(s), adjusted for parity - this may be varied if not from Tasmania.
    5. Any other information
