    England ditches three-figure gradings

As mentioned by pappubahry on Twitter - ECF is going over [edit: has gone over] to a four-figure FIDE-style rating system.

It should have been done decades ago. Is it somehow linked to Brexit, or is the ECF just using that as a convenient excuse to do something they've wanted to do for years?

I think the Brexit reference was just rhetorical flourish from that particular chess club author (and despite the text seemingly referring to the formal Brexit the week before last, the post is actually dated January 2020). Anyway, having looked up some player's ratings, e.g. Matthew Sadler, it seems that July 2020 was the last publication of the old grades, and since August 2020 they've been doing monthly (a change from six-monthly) updates of the FIDE-style ratings.
