Round 5 was a bit dodgy. Maybe FIDE officials could pay some attention to games.

Rounds 4 and 6 were quite solid. 15 years ago it would be unheard of: Australia is smashing Philippians 3 times in a row.

    Australia (W) 3-1 Jordan
    Australia (W) 0-4 Vietnam
    Australia (W) 1-3 Kazahstan

Currently in 12th, will probably need 2/3 matches in rounds 7-9 to make the quarter finals. Next opponent is Iraq (seeded 14th).

Kazakhstan is tough but the boys can do it. Smash the GMs and show them who is boss.

Ismagambetov is on 5.5/6, he is a dangerous one but we can beat him

Blast from the past! Last time the teams played was 4 years ago in the 2016 Olympiad. Interesting that the Australian team has not changed much. Yuan is replaced by Timur and Anton is not a kid anymore.

    Round 9 on 2016/09/11 at 15:00
    Code:
    Bo.45 Australia (AUS) -	37 Kazakhstan (KAZ)	3 : 1
    20.1	GM	Zhao, Zong-Yuan -	GM	Jumabayev, Rinat ˝ - ˝
    20.2	IM	Ly, Moulthun - Utegaliyev, Azamat ˝ - ˝
    20.3	IM	Smirnov, Anton -	GM	Ismagambetov, Anuar 1 - 0
    20.4	GM	Illingworth, Max -	GM	Kostenko, Petr 1 - 0

By the way our country is misspelled "Austrailia" here.
So what's your excuse? To run like the devil's chasing you.

Mongolia wins 2.5-1.5. We're still third though.
