Depends on the situation and what you call not peaceful. Riot control weapons should only be used when less violent policing methods fail.

    What about blue-on-white crime?

And what about black people killed by the rioters? Let's protest against injustice towards black people by murdering black people, and by looting and burning black-owned businesses.

ALL Black lives matter. Including black cops, black business owners whose businesses were burned down, and blacks killed or beaten by other blacks.

What about the black lives terminated by the coronavirus? There are over 30 deaths each day in Georgia, and about 80% of the infected people there are black. Do they matter?

Your own report says that 'pepper balls' were used against protestors, which sounds even worse than tear gas. And the reporters who were actually there have said that the protestors were peaceful.

Of course. Blacks are the majority of C19 cases in Democratic states locked down as well. Democrat states have far more C19 deaths than Republican states. Allowing rioting is surely going to spread C19.

So what should be done to save those 30 people dying each day (many of them Black) in Georgia? If that death rate continues for 200 days, there will be over 6 000 deaths.

The premise; that the protestors were violent, it was smoke canters not tear gas; is based on a single source – The Chief of Park Police. It then goes on to list dozens of counter claims; there was no violence, it was tear gas (or whatever it was stung like hell); by reporters that were there.
It strikes me that the Chief of Park Police is about as reliable a witness as the guy with the Sharpie pen altering the hurricane map - https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/05/u...p-sharpie.html

The Park Police are a federal body - he's probably afraid of being fired by Trump

When people are destroying property..what is police supposed to do? Protect the property or tell them ''not to do it''?

The Reuters 84-minute video shows peaceful non-violent protestors exercising their right of assembly, up till the 28:30 mark, when police begin to move them down the street. Gas canisters can be heard and seen being fired, and the effect on one person's eyes can be seen at 31:30. If it looks like tear gas and works like tear gas ...

Incidentally, what was the significance of Trump holding the bible upside down? Or wouldn't he know the difference?

You're trying to shift the goalposts again - naughty You asked whether police should use tear gas and stun grenades against non-peaceful (targets). They are only effective in crowd control - they are useless against fast-moving individual or small bands of vandals or looters.

Police are supposed to arrest the offenders. And protect the property if possible, but you should not expect police to mount guard on compromised property until it is secured. Securing the property is the owner's responsibility (by hiring repairmen and private security, not by vigilantism).

The issue which has set fire to America is police homicides, which are mostly at the expense of blacks. The vast majority of protests are peaceful; the instances of vandalism, arson and looting are crimes not protests.

Park Police were not the only police presence - there were also Federal Protective Service (DHS Police), DC Metropolitan Police and military police.
