It's not my thread, but perhaps the title of this one: "http://www.chesschat.org/showthread.php?18888-TERREY-SHAW-AUSTRALIAN-CHESS-IRONMAN-LIFE-GAMES-AND-WRITINGS-by-Ralph-Shaw-and-Ia" could be tidied up - "Ia" is actually "Ian Rogers", the book's co-author. Presumably the thread title is too long, and has been truncated.

Yes, I've now condensed parts of the title slightly to make the intended title and authors fit in the available space as best as possible. (This only fully fixes the display when the thread is opened, not the display on the heading pages.)

    Thanks, Kevin.

I'm not sure where to raise this, but Michael's post in the thread that he started - "Society on the Recieving End" - seems to have nothing to do with 'society', which wasn't affected by what happened in that post at all (as far as I can tell). Can the first and only post in a thread be off-topic

Ta; I started the duplicate and then more or less immediately realised it was a duplicate and thought I had deleted it, but seems it didn't delete. Deleted now.

And 50/52 posts on that thread are about one player - perhaps he needs his own thread?

Could 2023 Laws Of Chess - 1st January 2023, be given 'Important' status?, to ensure it stays at the top of the Arbiters Corner between now and until it is no longer relevant.

Not sure if my recent post belongs in the thread "Research-Does-playing-chess-affect-your-cognitive-and-social-skills", as it is a sub-thread of "Australian Chess". But maybe this thread itself should be somewhere else?

    Merge threads.

    Hi Kevin or Bill

Would you please merge the thread I started on 2022 Qld Women’s & Girls’ Chess Championships into the earlier thread created by StokesyRedcliff?

    Thanks - David E

I feel the posts about Mamedoc resigning have nothing to do with the rest of the thread dealing with Carlsen and Niemann so probably deserve to be in their own thread

Is there already a thread on here for why Australia is not part of the OCC? I know the reasons, but I would rather post in a current thread, where the content is already there, than create a new one?

This thread appears to be what you want, as there is some discussion at the beginning about the ACF joining (or not joining) the OCC.

Yes that one would be as good as any. It doesn't cover more recent history of the issue (not that there is much of it; the ball has been in the OCC's court for several years) but it is probably the most suitable thread.

Can this thread http://www.chesschat.org/showthread....pionships-2022 be marked important as it is an important national tournament.
