Rooty Hill RSL CC is still open. Social distancing. (Luckily we have a large room.) Leave the room if cough or sneeze. Wash after captures.

On a personal level, my employer has had me working from home since Tuesday with an expectation for this to last at least until the Easter break.

I am also working from home. Last Monday my opponent (fellow Kiwi Gavin Marner who I have known for more than 50 years!) and I pretended to elbow bump. No contact.

Maybe so long as it's the pointy end of the elbows that are touching it's not a big issue...

Alternatively, a "do-si-do" dance style greeting where the insides of the germ ridden elbows are linked, and the particpants move around in a circle, help precipitate the spread further.

Confirmation that the Perth club has also closed, along with a host of junior clubs and the School Chess League.

THE MEDIA Announcing the new crowd restrictions, Mr Morrison said there will be a maximum limit of 'four square metres provided per person in an enclosed space'.
When in a venue, patrons should try and sit a minimum of 1.5 metres away from one another.

If players' eyesight was up to it, in theory you could play with a board, set and clock each, but in my view it's better to follow the tenor of the government point (to not go to public events if they aren't essential) than to stubbornly keep going.

As far as I understand, ACF Response would be of relevance when the outbreak of the virus started. Now that all of the State Associations already ''closed'' all of the Chess Clubs - not sure what difference it would make.

Actually almost all of the chess clubs already closed themselves without any pressure from their State Association. Only one State Association seems to have exerted pressure to encourage clubs to close.
