Call for arbiter expressions of interest for Olympiad extended to Feb 7

On Dec 18 FIDE published this notice on their website, which I wasn't aware of at the time:

The 44th Chess Olympiad will take place from the 5th to the 18th of August 2020 in Moscow, Russia.

The FIDE Arbiter Commission is opening a call of interest to licensed arbiters (FIDE Arbiter or International Arbiter) who wish to be part of the arbiter team during the Olympiad.

If you are interested, please send your application by email before the 10th of January 2020 to office@fide.com, secretary.arbiters@fide.com and chairman.arbiters@fide.com with the following elements :

    - your chess arbiter resume

    - the list of languages that you can speak and your level of proficiency

    - which role you would prefer in the team
In an email to Federations they have just added the following:

    Preparing the Olympiads 2020
A call of interest was published on 18th December 2019 to collect inputs from arbiters all over the world about their desire to participate in the coming Olympiad in Moscow. This was a real success as more than 400 arbiters responded, from 122 countries. As the final selection process is still being designed with the Global Strategy Commission and FIDE management, this gives us the opportunity to:
    - extend the deadline until the 7th of February 2020
    - share with you about applications from your federation
This means arbiters who have not already applied can do so until Feb 7 by the procedure above. Apply directly to FIDE, do not apply through the ACF

More than 400 arbiters is a great response.
God exists. Short and to the point.

Don't know; haven't seen the list of those who applied so far yet.
