It would be interesting to hear who applied for the team as applications closed yesterday

Max thank you for your generous contribution.
It's been a rocky road to the 44th Chess Olympiad, scheduled to be held in 2020. The host city was originally Khanty-Mansiysk but was later transferred to Moscow. The COVID pandemic forced postponement to 2022, then Russia invaded Ukraine and Moscow became politically untenable. India stepped up at very short notice to organise the event in Chennai, starting on 26 July.
Our teams have now been selected - see http://acfappeal.aunz.org/teams.html With an all-GM open team for the first time and a women's team spearheaded by two WGMs, Australia is poised to gain its best-ever result.
But they need your help to get there. Time is short, costs are high and they receive no government support.
Please consider donating to the ACF Olympiad Appeal via the appeal website at www.acfappeal.aunz.org.

Melbourne Chess Club (MCC) is pleased to announce it has donated $800 to the ACF's Olympiad Appeal.
Furthermore, MCC plans to run its Saturday Allegro on 2 July 2022 as an fundraiser for the ACF's Olympiad Appeal.
The Allegro will run as normal, but all profits from the Allegro will be collected and forwarded to the ACF's Olympiad Appeal.
MCC will also accept donations made during the Allegro that it will then forward to the ACF's Olympiad Appeal.
Please keep a look out on ChessChat concerning the 2 July 2022 MCC Allegro.
With the Olympiad starting in less than a month, the appeal is currently around $4000 short of total costs.
An extra $2000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by ACF, enabling the appeal to reach the target.
So how about it, people? Let's find that extra $2000 - donate via the website acfappeal.aunz.org
