The Times, which has compiled a database of COVID-19 cases, reports that about 12,000 nursing homes and care centers have been linked to 282,000 cases. Of these cases, 54,000 people have died. ...
The article seems to have nothing to do with your heading, especially as about 50 000 of those deaths were from states other than New York.

But the only way to protect nursing home patients is a lockdown.

I'm not sure what you're implying, but just in case it's this:
An editorial which aired during the Credlin program on Friday 26 June at 6pm AEST, incorrectly linked Melbourneís South Sudanese community to a COVID-19 outbreak. Peta Credlin and Sky News Australia accept these comments were inaccurate and sincerely apologise for any offence caused by the remarks which have been removed from all platforms. Peta Credlin will also address this issue on her program on Monday 29 June at 6pm AEST.

Over 70 cases recorded in Victoria today. So much for the restrictions and economic sacrifices.

Not an ethnographic survey is proposed. Just a map with Covid-19 hot spots in Melbourne.

Won't help I am afraid. People who care practice social distancing already and people who do not care, just do not care! I wonder by the way how can we are having ''non English speaking communities'' in Victoria....all of my international students speak English so do the professional migrants. Family members that come with them - obviously they take care of. So where do these lovely communities come from?

A welcome backflip today, as QLD borders announced to open July 10.

So if lockups don't work, what suppressed the virus in the other states and NZ?

It's probably not a coincidence that it's the only state that has not had (effectively) zero cases of local transmission for several weeks.

Effectively 0 - is that a mathematical term? NSW had 5 today. But as mentioned it is a good thing that the ludicrous policy is being relaxed.
