    Nice, it is zugzwang due to mate threats of Nxc7, Nxg7, d5 and f5. 1.Bh4 and black has no good move, Eg 1... Rf5 2. d5+ Qxd5 3. exf5#

There are two requirements in this position, and one promising idea. Find a move that cooperates with everything, and the rest will be simple.

    Also, well done Desmond

An attractive move is ruined because of an unstoppable check, and one more is ruined because you lose control over a specific square...

I think: black king has no moves, all that required is to give a successful check. d8=Q is tempting to threaten 2. Qa5+ and Qg5+, but 1... c1=Q prevents it being mate in 3.
I think 1.Rg1 works. 1...c1=Q (forced) 2.d8=Q and now blacks onle check 2...Qg5 is met with 3.Qxg5#. Otherwise black has no other move to stop the dual queen threats of Qa5 and Qg5.
