Ballarat Begonia Open March 7-9 2020

begoniaflowersm.pngThe Ballarat Begonia Open is a favourite amongst Australia's chess players. Many of Australia's GMs, IMs and FMs and a sprinkling of OS GMs have expressed interest in competing, as well as our regular cohort of supporters. GM Ian Rogers will provide Live Commentary again as it proved so popular in previous years. Peter Tsai will be our chief arbiter, and we are moving the venue downtown to Ballarat Tech School at 136 Albert Street. This is a great new space, right behind downtown Ballarat - convenient for cafes, restaurants and public transport.
Labour Day weekend in 2020 is March 7 to 9, so book your accommodation now!
For registration and more information about accommodation, the new venue and more, go to https://www.ballaratchess.com/begonia/2020/index.html
Begonia Flyer - please download and distribute at your club.

^^ That's great to hear ER!

I thought you would like the new venue, it being centrally located and only a block away from the older venue.
A nice touch by the organisers was to include a picture of the late Richard Voon (right hand side, middle) in the flyer.
Richard evidently loved playing in the tournament as he was a regular fixture for many years!
A nice salute to Solo too.

Just a reminder that this one will be on March 7-9. Please book your accommodation early, as the Begonia Festival weekend is very popular for visitors!

Thanks Brodie, I'll make sure I pass this on to Peter.
