I wasn't talking about schoolies i was referring to regular weekend goers.

Its a well known hotspot for drugs and everything else. Could the crime rate also be related to the number of police and their stance on certain things? Drinking in public for example is not enforced any time I've been there. People drinking everywhere cops walk past.

Certain areas are alcohol free only on specified occasions like NY and Schoolies. Depending on offensive behaviour like when a few ladies playing strip chess with my giant set - were the cops booed! I think sometimes they either overdo or under do. Youth groups from Ballina and Lismore cause most trouble. I judge level of drug use by frequency of ambulance sirens and they are not excessive.

I think judging drug use by frequency of ambulance sirens is far from accurate but if you're happy there then that's great.

The rest of the country may have differing opinions, I see it as a fun place to visit and party but couldn't think of anywhere worse to live.

Well on one side my neighbors are a pair of medical specialists from Brissie, on the other side a new filthy rich guy I don't know much about supposedly owns about twenty houses, a pair of lawyers are across the road, a vet nearby, Midnight Oil drummer two doors up, Jack Thompson's film director bro up the road, Pat Rafter's house is near Hemsworth house just outta town. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...y-mansion.html Hemsworth House https://www.bing.com/images/search?q...mageBasicHover

I really feel sorry for them being too poor to live anywhere else.

Byron is like Sydney and New York and London - there are many boring places in the world but Byron is not one of them.

As well it is not too hot, not too cold, not too humid, not too dry. On the hill with ocean breezes is perfect.

Zoran Radovanovic - this guy has a crim history going back decades with a wide variety of crimes. Violence, drugs, burglary, theft etc.. But he was deemed at an Immigration Dept hearing to likely contribute more good to Australia than evil. Where is M Baron and ER when we need them?

Nah he could not afford it. If his checking out real estate claim was genuine it was concentrated on less salubrious lower tier outta town locations.

According to the press Chris Hemsworth now wants to relocate down the Lighthouse Road rather than at Broken Head. That place is dead and congested road coming in - not many spots here for his helicopter to land.

many thousands of local tests but no positives yet. Woollies, where the contaminee, visited was good at administering masks with security at front door. Cops are testing car number plates at hot surfing spots for out of town violators. The locals are probably loving it having the waves to themselves.

Recemtly the Green Mayor resigned, not sure exactly why but the Greens are split. What I didn't like about him was his driving a big 4WD around. I don't know if was necessary for his abode.

First time I have seen in an accommodation advertisment "No Vegans" - vegans are the trendies in Byron for decades, I remember eating raw lambs fry in front one that she didn't appreciate.

for years I put on chess in the park for the schoolies. But due to injury have not done consistently in recent years. But hoping all is okay for 2022. In fact just discussing today that may attempt every sunday afternoon, with helpers.

Sprouty, tiny Byron is the hot spot for youngsters and oldies acting like youngsters. Beautiful views everywhere and beaches. Live music every night of the year plus big music festivals. We have had Eric Burdon, Bob Dylan, Midnight Oil and plenty other big names. Bluesfest it is called.
