Karthikeyan sacs queen on move 9 and wins

Yes, with black. Yes, against a higher rated player. Who does this guy think he is, Kevin Casey?

Firouzja, Alireza (2682) - Karthikeyan, Murali (2593). Asian Continental Championships, round 5.

Someone here will probably know if this is theory in any way.

Fantastic game indeed. Reminds me of Tal's position Queen sacrifices!

what was Whites move 14 K-d1 and 15 K-c1 all about? Isn't this a case of delaying in castling that causes the problems or was the intention to castle long side?
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

Avoiding discovered check threats to the queen. Perhaps just moving the queen again (and eventually castling king-side) was better but it's a bit hard to move the queen again having just done so.

Yes, this fully deserves the Kevin Casey Full-Bamboozlement Queen Sac Seal of Approval - and against a 2682-ranked player, no less. Thanks for sharing....
