Since the day the policy began, horrible things have happened. When families can have only one child, they choose boys. Mothers who give birth to baby girls are condemned within their culture and are often rejected by their husbands or in-laws. Trying again for a boy is dangerous. Second-time Mothers face exorbitant fines or a forced abortion.

This systematic elimination of girls is called GENDERCIDE, and it's happening in 4 ways: through pre-natal sex selection, infanticide, abandonment, and trafficking. And it's happening every day.

China has world’s most skewed sex ratio at birth – again
    South China Morning Post

The mainland has recorded the world’s most imbalanced sex ratio at birth for the second consecutive year, and the country has slipped in its ranking for overall gender equality, a report shows.

The study by the World Economic Forum also pointed to the risks a country faced if a serious sex imbalance was combined with a rapidly ageing population....

On the mainland, a traditional preference for boys has encouraged selective abortions that resulted in 115 boys born for every 100 girls from 1994.

It peaked nationally in 2004 with 121.2 boys born for every 100 girls, and some provinces have seen the ratio climb as high as 130. But the figure has been falling for the last seven years and stood at 113.5 last year....

What was not mentioned was the kidnapping of young males, was quite prevalent years ago.
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

If both parents are only children, they are allowed to have 2 kids.

I have a simple answer: you can speculate all you like about what happens to girls and why it happens. There is also a cultural trend of preferring boys. However, Chinese government does not encourage any illegal practices and furthermore, punishments are far more severe in China rather than in Australia. Thats it!

P.S. Are we discussing abortions here? What has it got to do with the matter?

Giving birth to a child without a permit is an illegal practice in China. They were routinely killed by provincial midwives - state-sponsored infanticide

To even up the genders image if the state enforced termination of male pregnancies - gender equalitists should be demanding such. Uncle Mao's Little Red Book claimed that women held up half the heavens in that case the heavens must be collapsing .

Referring to Chairman Mao when discussing modern China is like referring to horse carts to discuss the contemporary Australian transport system.

Are you aware that sex selection is illegal in Australia? See for example: QUT Law Review: NON-MEDICAL SEX SELECTION IN AUSTRALIA: PUBLIC VIEWS AND BIOETHICAL CONCERNS.
So what's illegal in Australia goes unpunished in China.

You are mistaken there. What occurred 200 years ago how roads were designed for horse and cart still severely restricted how Sydney develops now. Just as Mao overpopulated China severely years ago guides today's policy on many from like resource guarantees, population control, large industrialisation. Some of these could easily lead to armed conflicts in the future and already.
