    6. Nde2 (I had never seen this Knight maneuvering before, but I couldn't find some sort
    of convincing way to gain initiative, so I stuck to the main Paulsen / Taimanov ideas)
    11 … d5 sacrificing a centre pawn for initiative and complications. (It nearly worked)!
    21 … Nh4. Mayiesha suggested afterwards that I should have gone for the Rook and she was right.
    However I chickened out due to imaginary threats of her Knight check and decided to exchange it with a consequential
    blockade of her annoying passed Pawn but my King could have found shelter from the storm at h8!

    Re knight retreat to e2, the idea was probably to avoid doubling pawns on c file, however it does look a bit slow. May be you could consider Nf6 with the idea of immediate d5.

    Move 16 was crucial. 16.f3 refutes most threats. 16...e4 nearly wins on the spot
