    RIP Tony Di Fasio

I have learned from Chris Kolak that Tony Di Fasio - has passed away on Sunday.

Those of you who have been coming to MCC will remember Tony for his ongoing contributions to the club as a tireless volunteer. He was the driving force behind the Saturday Sausage sizzles.
    RIP, Tony.

Bloody hell, when and how did that happen??
Tony and I were discussing various subjects during rest time at the Hjorth less than a month ago!
He looked fine! R.I.P. mate indeed you were a good bloke.
    You 'll be missed!
My deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones.

He was at MCC just a week before he passed away and he was running the Sausage Sizzle! He was a proactive contributor to the club up till the very end.
Re how it happened...I believe it was a massive stroke...but not sure.

Very sad. He was one of the small, but very important, wheels in the well-grounded MCC machine.

    Rest in peace.

I attended the saying of the Rosary for him today. A family member confirmed it was an aneurysm he suffered at the local supermarket.

It's very good to see these "small, but very important, wheels" getting the recognition they deserve. Most well-run chess clubs have these people, and can often go downhill if they leave for whatever reason.
