The final is the only match of the tournament which consists of four classical games. Those are played on consecutive days with a rest-day between the semi-final tie-breaks and match 1. Eventual tie-breaks are scheduled to 23 November, in the same manner as the whole tournament (two rapid games of 25+10, i.e. 25 minutes for the whole game plus 10 seconds increment, the two rapid games of 10+10, two blitz games of 5+3 and an armageddon decider).

From now on, they need to stop messing around with this title and go back to a proper candidates system to decide a challenger, and for Ju to remain champ until defeated in a match of best of 12 games at least, and preferably 16 or more. Hou would be the favourite to become challenger, and they have a level head-to-head score so the match would not be a pushover for Hou even though she is higher rated.

    Kevin,

You have mentioned before that with new Presidential Board, that they have decided to reform the Women's World Championship from this event on. I saw a reference that the top four placings from this event get an automatic spot in the next Candidates cycle, but I can not find any further information on how the next cycle will work.

Do you know what the full format will be?

Co-champions... this would be even more ridiculous!

The three semi-final losers (Lagno, M Muzychuk and Kosteniuk) all qualify for the 8-player Candidates event to challenge Ju Wenjun as World Champion. The qualifying method for the other five Candidates places has not yet been announced but it has been announced that there will be no wild cards.

Many female players are unhappy about this arrangement. Too many places in the Candidates are simply ''given away'' according to them. Those who did well in European Championship (WWC qualifier) are particularly unhappy.

Open Letter by Dzhavahishvili (one of the qualifiers from that Euro Championship) to Dvorkovich. A bit tricky to handle it via google translate though. I've seen an English Language version as well (I think ..but can not remember where ). so will google for it when get a spare minute.
