2018 Norths Winter Classic (Tuesdays 5 June - 24 July, FIDE rated)

Location: Norths (formerly North Sydney Leagues Club), cnr Abbott & Palmer Streets, Cammeray NSW.

Eligibility: Open to all players with a FIDE Standard rating less than 2200. Players who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents must have a FIDE ID.

Format: 8 round (Dutch) Swiss, with pairings by Vega.

Schedule: Tuesdays from 5 June to 24 July (in the case of a venue conflict, the number of rounds will be reduced).

Time: Games start at 7.30 pm. The forfeit deadline is 1 hour after the commencement of the round (at the Arbiter's discretion).

Time Control: All moves in 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move from move 1.

Entry Fees: Norths Chess Club members $15; non-members $25. GM, WGM, IM and WIM free.

Prizes: 1st: $150; 2nd: $100; 3rd: $50; Rating group A: $50; Rating group A: $50; Unrated: $25
Note that in the event of ties, prize monies will be shared and only players with an ACF Classic (or if not, a FIDE Standard) rating at the start of the tournament are eligible for rating prizes.

Ratings: Results will be submitted for the ACF Classic and FIDE Standard rating lists.

Byes: Postponements are not permitted. However, up to two half-point byes may be requested for rounds 1-6 by contacting the arbiter no later than 7pm on the Sunday before the round.

Entries: Enter online at the Winter Classic webpage. Entries close on 2 June 2017. Late entries will be accepted at the arbiter's discretion, with up to two byes automatically allocated for missed rounds.
