Tasmanian Championships 2018 March 10-12 Launceston

    https://www.tasmanianchessassociatio...-championships

I heard tonight that the expected venue at Prospect Vale has fallen through and another venue is being found. The new venue is the ROAB G.A.B. Hall - 11 Birch Ave, Newstead TAS 7250. ROAB stands for Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffalos!

    Entries known to me:

    Ian Rout (defending champion)
    Kevin Bonham
    Denis McMahon
    Ian Little
    Kerry Beeton
    Luwanna Beeton
    Bayani Beeton
    Andrew Campbell
    Mitchell Campbell
    Albert Chin

I believe Alastair Dyer is also playing. Unfortunately, Martin Friebe has advised that he'll be too busy to play. Entries close this Wednesday.

Albert Chin has a Quick rating of 1107 and Owen Swan 1051. The other four unrated entries do not have Quick ratings.

A couple of the others have part-qualified for ratings and hence have played a bit, so pursuant to the observations here it should be feasible to also give them a more accurate estimate than zero.

    Hi Tan

I've just received notice from Alastair Dyer that he needs to withdraw. He was booked to stay with us. You are welcome to take his place. Please let me know urgently that this is ok. Cheers. Denis
