Moves of broad co-operation within FIDE

Lots of movement in the station!

In Europe some talk of the times they are a-changin'

Some talk of a new American Revolution St Louis style.

Some others wait and see! ...

And guess what ... Garry 's in it!

If it goes a step further...definitely not good news for Kirsan!

there's quite a bit of rumouring in Europe including Kasparov's participation in some executive position.
yes, Kirsan's prospects do not look promising!
none here underestimate Russia's role though.

We should remember Kasparov was banned for two years although that ban will have expired by the time of the next elections. It will be interesting to see who lines up for the next Presidential election and whether Kasparov has any involvement. I don't see him being elected President any time soon.

I wouldn't take Russia too seriously here. At the last FIDE congress their proposal for the World Champion to be able to accept pay-to-play challengers got only two votes after they insisted on putting it to a vote after Makro told them to go away and do some homework. I'd be keeping an eye on the Americas.

Not clear to me if Kirsan is even going to recontest.
