    Fijian Chess Festival - 13-20 August 2016

    Hope to play some quality chess with Australian and New Zealand chess players at this event:

    FIJIAN CHESS FESTIVAL

    August 13-20, 2016

    Site: The Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, Denarau Island, Nadi, Fiji

    Standard, Rapid and Blitz events:

    * 2nd Fiji International Open
    * 1st Oceania Junior Championship
    * 2nd Oceania Senior Championship
    * 1st Fiji International Rapid Open
    * 1st Fiji International Blitz Open

    http://festival.fijichess.com/

    The hotel is a bit pricey, but there are also lower-priced accommodations nearby, ranging from backpacker dorms (Smuggler's Cove is a favorite) to mid-priced hotels (Raffles & Tokatoka are two), all within a $10-15 taxi to the tournament site. Many less expensive restaurants nearby, too. Airfares area cheap now, due to low oil prices.

    Excellent! Some local players will have vehicles so you can have access to more (and cheaper) restaurants, grocery shops, etc.

    Only 1 player over 2100 - great opportunity for you to bounce back from the Sri-Lankan tourney and to finish in top 3-5! You can do it!

    Haha this is the plan, although the NZ contingent may have something to say about that - especially the one I am sharing a room with!
