Australia moves to ICCF Zone 4 Afro-Asia
ICCF has agreed that from 1 February 2016 Australia will move from Zone 3, North American Pacific Zone (NAPZ) to Zone 4, Afro-Asia Zone (AA).
One immediate benefit of this is that Australian players can now enter the Afro-Asia Zonal Championships, which will start 1 March 2016, with a preliminary stage consisting of 7 to 9 players each. From here players can qualify for the semi final stage and from there on to the final stage. The size of the semi final and final stages as well as the number of qualifers that advance will depend on the amount of entries received. This will be announced at the start of each stage.
Participation in this event is free - there is no entry fee. Entry from Australian players of all standards is encouraged.
To enter please send an email to: brianjoneschess@outlook.com
The closing date for entries is 15 February 2016,
Please note that entry to NAPZ events will no longer be accepted after 1 February 2016
