    Gardiner Chess has been sold

It has not been a very well kept secret, but Gardiner Chess has new owners, Andrew Fitzpatrick and Justine Jule. Wendy and Graeme wish them all the very best.

Wendy and Graeme : Thank-you so much for your professional yet friendly promotion of our great game of chess for so many years! You have helped promote chess in so many ways and to all ages. Your yearly $2000 Gardiner Chess sponsorship of the Queensland Chess Championships has helped strong players from all parts of our big State make it down to Brisbane or the Gold Coast for this important event! Your Tournaments have been so huge and so much fun to play in! Your Schools Program has seen Chess continue to grow stronger every year! Your effort in bringing a bus load of talented Juniors to so many events over the years has been appreciated by all! I wish you both a very happy retirement and I know you will both sleep happily at night with the knowledge that Gardiner Chess will live on in such strong hands, with Andrew FitzPatrick and Justine Jule now in the helm. You could not have wished for anyone better to keep Gardiner Chess on the up and up than Andrew and Justine! Thanks again for all you have done to make Chess in Queensland so much fun!

Best of luck to the new owners of the business which has made such a fine contribution to its local chess scene and to Australian chess more generally.

Outstanding contribution to the chess community. Will be delighted to see Gardiner Chess expanding to Victoria one day. In the meantime, big thank you for your efforts in making our chess scene a better place!
