    Exclamation ACF Grand Prix 2016

It's that time again... the 2016 Grand Prix will soon be open for registrations and in line with what we've done in previous years a specific GP thread has been created for all the updates and latest information.

There will be significant registration and payment changes for next year's GP, I'll update everyone here and on the ACF web page in due course.

    Registrations open on October 1.

    ACF Grand Prix 2016

    The ACF 2016 Grand Prix

    General News

The ACF GP for 2016 will be open for registrations from the 1st of October 2015. All classical time control tournaments that commence on or after the 1st of January 2016, and conclude on or before the 31st of December 2016 are eligible to register. Registration fees are payable at the time of registration and are dependant on the GP class. For more information on registration fees see the table below. Tournament organisers must register their events 60 days prior to the start date to avoid a late fee of $50.

    Tournament Registration

Registration for the 2016 ACF Grand Prix will be performed using an online registration form. Unlike previous years e-mail and postal registration will no longer be accepted. The online form is an "as near to" replica of the 2015 registration form, but embedded in an online format. Once the online form has been submitted, the information provided will automatically be recorded in a registration table, and a notification e-mail will be sent directly to the Grand Prix Director. This system has been employed in an attempt to avoid registrations that have been lost in the post, or lost in cyberspace.

The online registration form can be found here.

    Registration Fee Payment

Payment of registration fees for the 2016 ACF Grand Prix will be through direct bank transfer. The appropriate bank details to facilitate this transfer can be found under point 3.4.1 of the official 2016 ACF Grand Prix Rules, which can be downloaded from the ACF website. Bank transfers should be accompanied by a suitable description such that payment can be identified and confirmed. A recommended description is "ACFGP [tournament name]".

    Exclamation Registrations Temporarily Offline

    Hi Everyone,

As Murphy's Law would have it as soon as well transfer to an online registration system the ACF website has troubles!

As many of you would be aware the ACF website has been "reset" to a previous version. This version of the website is Pre-2016 ACF GP updates, that means these pages have been removed, including the online registration form.

The ACF webmaster is in conversations with the providers and a solution is being worked through.

Until then if I can ask that tournament organisers hold off on their registrations until the problem is fixed.

When the problem is rectified, please follow the directions below.

    Exclamation ACF Website Back Online!

    Hi Everyone,

The ACF website has been restored, YAY! This means the registration form, and ACF GP 2016 pages are once again operational.

You can now register online and pay by direct transfer as per the directions given previously. Please DO NOT send me paper registration forms, and please DO NOT send cheque payments. If for any reason direct transfer of funds causes problems for tournament organisers please contact me directly.

The registration page/form can be found on the ACF website at this address: http://auschess.org.au/acf/grand-prix/registration/, you can copy and paste that link, or you can also click here to be taken directly there.

Because of this hiccup I will waive all late fees for any tournament conducted in January, February, AND March of next year!

I will release the first list of registrations in early December.

Thanks to everyone for your patience. I'm looking forward to making the 2016 GP our best one yet.

Thumbs up Fast and Easy Registration!

Well, I think the combination of a Christmas break giving people more time, and an instantaneous online registration system has created a boom in registrations. So much so that we now have 12 registrations already and more than a few inquiries coming in about how to register, this is great news and spells good things for the 2016 GP.

Out of the current 12 entries we have 2 class 5's and a class 4, so there are some big points up for grabs, but of course the GP wouldn't be able to function without the class 1's and 2's which make up the bulk of the tournaments.
