Expecting a small field with a average rating of about 2000 but hope to get some lower rated players who might let me beat them.
Did you get your wish Fletch ?

    Well done

I won't be there (sadly) but hopefully other 2000+ players will turn up to stop that winner

MCC Blitz tournament on again tonight at 7:20 pm entry is $10 non-members and 5$ for members.

Last weeks winners was FM Bill Jordan.

3 players rated over 2200 said they might play this week. Low rated players just as welcome.

Will have a double round robin if small number of entries.

Thank you, Andrew. I was happy to play today after weeks of absence. The tournament was fun as always

The winner of the blitz last night was FM Michael Baron and 2nd FM Bill Jordan

We had a small field with the lowest rated player about 1800.

Melbourne Cup night it will be on again at 7:15pm after prize giving for the last round of the weekender.

Maybe some of the IM's will hang around to teach Micheal Baron a lesson or 2.

Sadly, on the coming Tuesday, I am unlikely to be able to make it so the lesson may have to wait for another week.

Last night blitz saw the future of chess with 2 teenage masters and i was out played by a 9 year old.

1st was IM James Morris from IM Ari Dale in 2nd.

Some debate over when a player can claim draw when player with K+p v K showed good sportsmanship gave opponent who only had 1 sec. left a draw.

And another game K+R v K+R and 17 sec. left arbiter ruled draw because he didn't want to see clocks bashed while trying to make 50 moves in 17 seconds.

Am I safe to guess that the player who offered a draw with opponent having 1 sec left was not you?

I believe there is going to be a blitz at MCC tonight. Still not 100% sure I can make it but will try - so hopefully see you there.
