    Caruana returning to USA

I'm surprised that no mention has been made of it, but that being the case I will mention it - the grandmaster formerly known as Signore Caruana is reportedly reverting to being American. There are several links around (so either not a joke/hoax or a good one) but here's one:

It is not secret that the US has been spending a lot of money to buy a good olympiad team.
We may define “faith” as a firm belief in something for which there is no evidence. Where there is evidence, no one speaks of “faith.” We do not speak of faith that two and two are four or that the earth is round. We only speak of faith when we wish to substitute emotion for evidence. - Bertrand Russell

That is true but he was not playing for the US until this recent announcement. I suspect there is a financial transaction that has precipitated the change. As I said there is money in the US to build up their team and who better than a top 3 player who already has US citizenship?

While money is probably the main reason, could be other reasons too as Karuana hails from a very rich family.
